Simon Jordan
After two long years being stuck in administration and scraping the bottom of the barrel to survive, the club was saved in 2000 by lifelong Eagles fan and self-made millionaire Simon Jordan.
He may have lost his way slightly of late but you can't argue he has always done his best to back the club and fought its corner at every turn.
He's given us some pretty funny one-liners too, here's a selection:
"What does Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright think he will get for £6m? Andy Johnson's trainers?"
"In retrospect, of course I regret calling them (Charlton fans) morons. Imbeciles would have been more appropriate."
"Without being arrogant, I am probably the highest-profile club chairman in the country. Whether it is because I am young or I fight causes or I have a big mouth or I date silly girls, I don't know."
