Crystal Palace could face FA Cup holders Wigan Athletic after securing passage to the fourth round on Saturday.

Goals from Dwight Gayle and Marouane Chamakh in a 2-0 win saw Palace past West Brom at the Hawthorns.

With Wigan Athletic and MK Dons facing a replay following a 2-2 draw, Palace must wait their fate.

Despite overcoming the tricky trip to the Midlands, boss Tony Pulis was disappointed not to score more goals.

"Dwight Gayle is a goalscorer and he took his chance ever so well but we were disappointed we didn't get a few more and late on with the introduction of two subs we looked the better team and a real threat going forward," he told the club's website.

"It was always going to be tough coming to a Premier League side away from home but I thought the lads stuck at it really well and in the second half West Brom got more into the game and we defended with our lives at times.

Opener: Dwight Gayle's FA Cup goal at West Brom was his fourth in all competitions this season

"Overall we created some very good opportunities and can take positives from a game in which we made some changes.

"I gave Hiram Boateng his first start of the season, he gave us a good hour, and was really pleaed with him and other lads got the chance to be in the team from the start."

He added: "Julian [Speroni] made some good saves and in particular one outstanding one but that is what you are hoping you are paying him to do, overall it was a great team performance with everyone working hard.

"We had a little bit of luck when we needed it and could have been more clinical at times where the final pass let us down but apart from that I am really pleased."
