Australian midfielder Mile Jedinak was in a reflective mood after his Crystal Palace side succumbed to their 15th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday.

However, the belief that Eagles manager Tony Pulis has instilled in the squad was all too evident as the skipper prepares for West Brom’s visit this weekend.

The sides are level on points with the Baggies, in 16th, ahead on goal difference, making this weekend a different ball game to the Arsenal affair.

Jedinak said: “It was a solid performance against Arsenal without getting anything but we always keep saying that when we come to these big places.

“The disappointment was conceding so early in the second half but we still had a go and were unlucky not to score when it was 1-0.

“But that’s football and it was always going to be difficult – it’s hard to take sometimes when you don’t come away with anything.

“We know that these games are not going to shape our season but it’s how we pick ourselves up now for the big game on Saturday, and we will be raring to go for that.”

With three points separating 12th to 19th, a positive result against West Brom is crucial if the Eagles are to avoid slipping back into the bottom three.

To that end, the Eagles squad has expanded with four new faces coming in on transfer deadline day.

“It’s fantastic to see what the club has done and it’s exciting for all us,” said Jedinak about the signings of Joe Ledley, Wayne Hennessy, Tom Ince and Scott Dann.

“The boys will be raring to go and we want to get them involved. We love having them join us and we want them to be part of something special. I’m sure they’ll all play a big part.

“Obviously it is the manager’s choice about who should start (on Saturday) but we’re all fully focussed on the game.”

He added: “I’m sure come tomorrow he will have some tough decisions to make, but we will set ourselves out how he wants us to and as long as it translates on the field on Saturday into success then so be it.

“At the end of the day it is a squad environment and we are all in it for one reason - to stay up in this league - everyone, as professionals and as part of this team, knows that it is ‘one in, all in’.”
