Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has revealed his delight at tying down the services of Wilfried Zaha.
The winger signed a permanent deal on Monday to complete a move from Manchester United for around £6m.
This time last year, as Newcastle United boss, Pardew was defusing questions about the recently departed Johan Cabaye.
However, fast-forward 12 months, and Pardew is basking in the glow of a successful transfer window – the cream of which was getting Zaha’s moniker.

One year on: Coming to Crystal Palace was the right decision, says midfielder
Pardew said: “Wilf has fabulous technical ability and now he needs to bring that to the first team.
“We’re glad we have made the deal permanent because we don’t want to carry many loan players.
“The most important thing is that you have a player that you are going to enhance for the club, and who will bring more value to the first team and he (Zaha) can do that.”
He added: “We did some great business, and got most of our deals done early on and that is always the best way to do it.
“We have a big, powerful squad to go forward and we’ve managed to strengthen the team in places that needed a bit more experience.”
