Winger Bakary Sako felt Palace were denied anything from Sunday’s game at Tottenham because of Hugo Lloris’ impressive performance at White Hart Lane.

The French keeper made a string of outstanding stops, including one from Sako shortly before Son Heung-min grabbed Tottenham’s winner midway through the second half.

And the summer arrival from Wolves was keen to highlight the difference Spurs’ keeper made.

Sako said: “We can feel unlucky today after not being able to get an equaliser.

“I think their keeper did really well to keep a clean sheet.

“I thought my shot was in when I hit it, but Hugo Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he played very well.

“Tottenham had a lot of possession during the game but we created a lot of chances too.

“Yohann Cabaye hit the post in the first half, so we were unlucky there, and then my free-kick was close too.”

The Eagles started the contest without a recognised striker on the field, but after a frustrating opening period Alan Pardew withdrew Wilfreid Zaha at half-time and replaced him with Fraizer Campbell.

Sako believed that the change was necessary and had a positive impact on the side.

He said: “Yannick did a great job in the first half, but when Fraizer came on it helped the side because it was more natural for him to play there.

“Then Yannick Bolasie moved out wide and that suited him far better. It was a good change.”
