Arsenal will bounce back from last week’s dramatic 3-3 draw at West Ham by beating Crystal Palace comfortably, according to Mark Lawrenson.

The former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender is predicting a 2-0 home win for the Gunners, who are currently 13 points behind league leaders Leicester.

Arsene Wenger’s side threw away a 2-0 lead at Upton Park as their title chances took a further hit.

Meanwhile, Palace have all but secured Premier League football for another season in April with five points from three games.

Lawrenson insists the run has lifted the club out of trouble, but the 58-year-old cannot see Alan Pardew’s charge returning to Selhurst with anything on Sunday.

The pundit said in his BBC prediction column: “Crystal Palace have had a mini-revival, taking five points from their past three games - enough, essentially, to lift them out of trouble.

“Arsenal's draw at Upton Park last week was their season in a nutshell - they looked a really good side when they were 2-0 up but their defensive issues came back to haunt them before, at 3-2 down, they manage to turn it round.

“This game should be far more straightforward - they will beat Palace. I’m going for 2-0.”
