Crystal Palace’s “warrior” defender Scott Dann should be fit for the FA Cup semi-final despite taking a nasty knock in Sunday’s draw at Arsenal.

The 29-year-old had been key to Palace’s season, scoring five Premier League goals from the centre of defence.

But his season looked in jeopardy yesterday when he was caught on top of his foot by the studs of Gunners’ Gabriel Paulista.

Dann hobbled through to half-time, and much to the relief of the travelling Eagles faithful, re-emerged after the break to help Palace take a valuable point.

Pardew said: “Dann is so important to us and has been all year, so when he took that knock I was a little bit concerned.

“But he’s a warrior, and it will take something problematic for him not to play because he would play through pain.”

Palace go to Manchester United on Wednesday, and then turn their attention to the FA Cup semi-final against Watford on Sunday at Wembley.
