Yannick Bolasie said he hasn’t been sure if he is fully fit after admitting to a blip in his usual standards for Crystal Palace.

Bolasie scored the equaliser at the Emirates as Palace came back from a goal behind to earn a point against Arsenal.

And the 26-year-old hopes the goal will help him return to his best, both physically and mentally.

“The last two games I don’t know,” said Bolasie, when asked if he is fully fit.

“I hope today’s done a lot for my head and my personal, physical, psychological side.

“It’s been a bit stop-start, ten weeks out, it’s difficult. I came back I felt great then hit a bit of a blip last two games, personally anyway.

“That’s my personal thing. I think some people think I’ve done alright but I know what I can do and what I’m capable of doing.

“Hopefully now that goal now has definitely lifted me, for sure.”

Bolasie conceded it took him a while to get back into action against the Gunners, and was lucky to still be on the pitch when he scored his 81st minute strike.

“It took long to get going to be honest,” he said.

“Anything could have happened, I could have got subbed off at half-time, but the gaffer’s kept faith in me and obviously had a word with me at half-time and I’ve upped my energy a little bit and I’ve ended up scoring a goal for the team.”

The attacker was alternating between more advanced, central positions and wide areas throughout the game, but insists he is a natural winger.

“I play on the wing, I was brought up playing on the wing,” he added.

“If the manager sees something different in me then I’m not the kind of guy who’s going to refuse to play in any other position.

“I do what I can to help the team and when I’m fully fit… when it’s been a bit stop-start it’s been a bit difficult but hopefully now it starts to get back a bit.”
