Everton are interested in signing Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke.

The Toffees want Benteke to replace Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester United in an initial £75m deal on Monday.

Benteke scored 17 goals in his debut season for Palace after signing from Liverpool for a club-record fee of £27m.

Reports towards the end of the season stated that the Belgian forward was considering leaving.

And Sky Sports reports that Everton want to continue their spending spree by bringing Benteke to Goodison Park.

Blues boss Ronald Koeman has already signed Wayne Rooney, Michael Keane, Sandro Ramirez, Henry Onyekuru and Jordan Pickford as he aims to break into the top four.

And Benteke could be the next player to walk through the door at Finch Farm.
