Barcelona are set to make Crystal Palace target Paco Alcacer available in January.

Alcacer has failed to make an impact at the Nou Camp since joining in a £27m deal last summer.

He has started just seven league games for the La Liga giants, and has only featured three times this season.

And Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde is prepared to offload the former Valencia man in January, according to Spanish publication Diario Gol.

Premier League clubs Palace, Southampton and Newcastle are interested in signing Alcacer.

But they would have to put forward a substantial fee for the Spanish international, who still has four years left on his Barcelona contract.

The Eagles’ two senior strikers, Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham, are both crocked with long-term injuries.

Wickham is not a proven top-flight number nine, while Benteke has not scored since May.

So Alcacer would be a valuable addition to a struggling Palace side, who are rock bottom and winless in the Premier League this season.
