Hampton eye historic cup double

Hampton School's U15s coach Kevin Knibbs hailed a heroic Independent Schools FA U15s Cup final triumph last week and hopes the school's U18s can complete a historic double this week.

Hampton lifted the title for the first time at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium thanks to a 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory over Bolton School last Thursday after the scores had finished level at 1-1 thanks to Tom Phillipson's first half strike.

The school's senior stars play Millfield School at League One MK Dons' home Stadium MK this Thursday and Knibbs - who coaches the U15s alongside maths teacher Aileen Schroder - looked forward to celebrating more.

"The boys were heroic in what was an epic encounter against powerful opposition and they upset the odds to record a fully deserved victory," he said.

"The match was all that an ISFA Final should be and Bolton School and Hampton School can be very proud of how their players and spectators made it a memorable occasion in the best traditions of Independent Schools' Football.

"We are now hoping for a Hampton double victory and wish the first XI the best of luck in the 2012 Boodles ISFA Cup Final between Hampton and Millfield."
