The Met Police drew a game which for the first hour to all in the ground would not have seemed possible.

East Thurrock scored two first half goals without reply through Sam Higgins and Hakeem Araba in the 12th and 21st minute respectively.

East Thurrock should have increased their lead through the same pair but they shot wide when better placed to score.

The second half began and in the 60 the minute, the game swung in favour of the Met when Thurrock’s centre half Steve Sheehan was carried off on a stretcher after falling awkwardly.

From this point onwards the Met dominated forcing saves from East Thurrock’s custodian Richard Wray.

Goals in the 84th minute by goal machine Jonte Smith then in the 88th minute by Staff Palmer got the home team a point and in the 90th (plus 10 minute) Wray again saved well to deny the police the full three points.
