Crystal Palace manager George Burley was all smiles after Tuesday night's 4-1 victory over Portsmouth, but has urged his players to keep it up for the visit of Burnley to Selhurst Park.

"It's important to get points on the board.

"We have another home game coming up on Saturday and we need to try and replicate that type of performance.

"We have a lot of young players but from time to time you are going to be a bit up and down form wise but the attitude and quality they are showing is very encouraging.”

"We have two wingers in Keiran Djilali and Keiron Cadogan who were excellent and produced some really exciting football to watch.

"At half time, even though we had conceded the goal, the fans applauded the team off so that showed that they had really enjoyed some of the football which they had seen.”

"Everyone has been surprised by Cadogan and Djilali because it was a case of are whether they were going to get new contracts in the summer.

"But they have shown they are exciting talents and it's been a big bonus that these lads have come in and played quite regularly.”

"I try to get players to do what they are good at and Cadogan and Djilali's strength is running at defenders, which they showed. I want them to get to the byline against the full-back."

Burley also suggested that Palace have not been as bad as their recent run of results in the league have portrayed them to be.

"We have had four defeats but in those games we have good spells of possession and tonight turned that into goals," he added.

"It is all very well playing good football but there must be an end product.

"We had some outstanding performances and it is very pleasing to get a good win under our belt.

"We have been guilty of individual mistakes and not having the end product but our overall play has been good so we must keep playing like we are and keep believing."
