THE long-awaited public inquiry into plans to build a giant incinerator in Belvedere gets under way on July 1 at the Marriott Hotel, in Bexleyheath Broadway, at 10am. It is expected to last around 12 weeks.
Riverside Resource Recovery Ltd wants to build the incinerator in Norman Road, Belvedere. Bexley Council and residents’ and environmental groups are against it.
Meanwhile BADAIR (Bexley and District Against Incinerator Risk) is appealing to businesses in the area to donate cash towards the cost of employing expert witnesses to fight the proposal.
Cheques should be made payable to BADAIR and sent to 29 Berkhampstead Road, Belvedere, Kent, DA17 5EA.
