CRYSTAL PALACE 2 V 0 SWANSEA CITY

Palace: Speroni, Lawrence, Hill, Derry, Fonte, Scowcroft, Carle, Butterfield, Ifill, Watson, Oster. SUBS: Moses, Scannell, Andrew, Ertl, Djilali.

Swansea: De Vries, Williams, Painter, Bodde, Britton, Pratley, Scotland, Gower, Monk, Rangel, Butler. SUBS: Tate, Brandy, Gomez, Pintado, Bessone.

Four changes by Neil Warnock today as Fonte replaces the injured McCarthy and Scowcroft comes in for Andrew instead of Lee, who is also injured. Paul Ifill also starts and seems to be lining up alongside Scowcroft in a 4-4-2 with Nick Carle on the left wing. Ben Watson returns to the first team and is given a good cheer by Palace fans before the match.

1 min: Early chance for Swansea as Scotland gets in behind the defence but his shot is comfortbale for Speroni.

5 min: Ifill cuts inside from the left and unleashes a great right foot drive which De Vries does well to palm out of the top corner.

14 min: Not any goal mouth action to tell you about but Swansea have played some stuff without finding a decent final ball.

15 min: YELLOW CARD: Derry booked for a late tackle on Pratley. He'll have to be carfeul now.

17 min: Panic in the Palace box but they managed to clear without letting Swansea getting a hot away then Oster breaks at the other end and eventually Hill volleys miles over.

21 min: SUB: Djilali comes on for Oster in what must be a recurrence of the thigh problem he suffered after Reading and straight away Djilali sets up Ifill with a lovely cross but he heads over - he was offside anyway.

23 min: YELLOW CARD: Painter booked for a late tackle on Fonte. From the free-kikc Ifill turns his man but shoots straight at the keeper from ten yards. Good chance and he should have done better.

26 min: SUB. Oh dear more bad news for Palace as Scowcroft goes down clutching his hamstring after a tackle and Andrew comes on to replace him.

27 min: GOAL. It's a triumphant return for Watson as his free-kick from the foul on Scowcroft floats all the way in from wide on the left. Hill tried to get a touch but didn't.

35 min: Watson full of confidence now shoots from distance but it's block before Hill crosses straight to De Vries from a great position.

37 min: Butler does well to block Djilali's volley from the edge of the box.

41 min: Andrew heads Speroni's long kick on for Ifill but he gets his shot all wrong and it dribbles across the six yard box.

45 min: Ifill collects Djilali's cross at the back post, cuts inside his man but sees his shot deflected wide. Watson then produces two good corners in a row but nothing comes from them.

45 min: Butler comes inside from the left and finds Scotland 12 yards out in space but he shoots straight at Speroni at power. Good chance and he should have done better.

HALF TIME Palace lead at the break thanks to a somewhat fortuatous goal but they all count and though Swansea have probably played the better football, they've failed to really make an impact, with just Scotland's late chance their only real effort of note. More of the same in the second half hopefully.

49 min: Slow start to the second half. Swansea pass it about again but no end product...again

51 min: Another great free0kick from Watson from the same position he scored from. This time it finds it's way to Andrew at the back post but the angle is too tight for him and he hits the side netting.

53 min: Gower cuts inside from the right past Hill and Speroni saves well. Palace go straight up the other end and Andrew finds himslef through on goal but finishes poorly and well wide.

54 min: SUB: Gower off Pintado on as Swansea go 4-4-2.

56 min: Super save from Speroni as Scotland pulls the ball back to Pratley eight yards out but the Argentine somehow saves his low effort. Pratley is orchestrating things right now in the centre of the park and Derry needs to get a hold of him.

63 min: Palace have weathered that bit of pressure but it could be a long half hour as whenever they get the ball they don't seem to want to commit men forward.

66 min: GOAL! Carle doubles Palace's lead from 20 yards. Djilali laid it off for him and the Aussie found space to fire low into the bottom corner. De Vries got a hand to it but it was too strong for him.

69 min: YELLOW CARD and SUB: Pratley booked for a trip on Djilali as he was about to go through and Painter is replaced by Bessone.

70 min: Watson goes close with a free-kick from range but his drive is about a foot over.

73 min: Ifill shoots over as Watson lays a free-kick back to him 12 yards out. He was under pressure when he hit it.

80 min: Sorry had a slight problem with our internet connection then. 14621 is the confirmed crowd and they've seen De Vries save well from Djilali and then Speroni also do brilliantly to keep out Pratley's effort.

84 min: SUB: Scotland off, Brandy on.

86 min: SUB: Fonte blocks brilliantly from Pratley before Ifill is replaced by Scannell. He got a standing ovation Ifill and deservedly so.

89 min: Scannell shoots wide in the box and should have done better really. Three minutes added on.

FULL TIME: Palace finally get their first win of the season and are yet to concede at home in the league after three matches. It was a lucky goal that got them on their way and a class strike that sealed it but Palace probably deserved it with a committed display. Swansea played good football but couldn’t break Palace down. Hopefully we will see more of the same on Tuesday away at Wolves. See you then.
