NORWICH CITY 1 v 2 CRYSTAL PALACE

Hello and welcome to tonight's game at Carrow Road, sorry for the late start if I say M25 I'm sure you will all understand.

Palace have started brightly but it is Norwich who have had the best chance with Julian Speroni brilliantly saving Adam Drury's header from David Bell's free kick.

min: Speroni called into action again to tip Clingan's deflected drive around the post.

Team news: Palace make one change with Shefki Kuqi starting in place of the injured Paul Ifill, with Craig Beattie moving to left wing. Matt Lawrence, Shaun Derry and Calvin Andrew all returning to the bench.

min: It seems the traffic problems weren't enough for me today, I have computer problems too so you might have to bear with me a little bit.

min: Meanwhile, Speroni has done well again to punch away another Bell free kick under pressure. Norwich on top.

min: Speroni has so far taken his goal kicks today but Flahavan is on the bench as a precaution again.

min: Scannell overruns the ball after a good break set up by a good interception from Clyne.

min: Good chance for Palace as Beattie latches on to Carle's throughball and goes round the keeper. With players waiting though he skews horribly over from a tight angle. He was off balance so we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

min: GOAL. Beattie makes it two in two for him as he latches on to Fonte's hacked clearance and keeps his cool to slot it past Marshall, just. The keeper will feel he should have done better but Beattie won't care.

min: That was good work from Beattie that, he kept himself onside and was alert enough to get on to the clearance which was more of a hack than a measured throughball.

min: Fonte times his tackle to perfection as Bell prepares to shoot inside the six yard box.

min: YELLOW CARD. Watson picks up a silly booking as he blocks the ball with his hand in the middle of the park. Playing the Derry role he will have to be careful now.

min: YELLOW CARD. Oster goes in the book now for a needless tug at Croft after he loses the ball in the middle of the park. Palace must not lose their discipline now.

min: GOAL. Great finish from John Oster gives Palace breathing space. He won the ball in midfield dispossing Pattison before playing Carle through. He knocked it back to Scannell and when he was tackled the ball came back out to Oster who chipped it over Marshall and into the far corner. That could well be Palace's goal of the season.

min: Hill bravely heads away Bell's free-kick in a melee of people before Speroni somehow snatches the ball from Lita's feet as he tries to go around the Argentine.

HALF TIME: Boos for the home team as Palace take a two-goal lead into the break. Norwich are not the worse team I have seen this season and they still pose a threat but with Fonte keeping Lita quiet and McCarthy marshalling Sibierski, the Eagles have looked solid.

min: SUBS: Norwich make two changes at the start if the second half as Sibierski and Bertrand are replaced by Fotheringham and Hoolahan - a summer transfer target for Palace before he signed for the Canaries.

min: A good cross from Bell is met by Lita's head six yards out but he directs it weakly at Speroni. It was a good chance and McCarthy shoulod never have let him get the header.

min: Beattie curls wide from 20 yards as Kuqi does well to win the ball out wide and set him up.

min: Watson gets a talking to from the ref as he pulls Fotheringham back in the middle of the park but he escapes a second booking. He is skating on thin ice though.

min: Bell shimmies into space on the edge of the box but curls well over. Palace are on the back foot.

min: Beattie's header from Fonte's free-kick sets up Hill who chests it down 20 yards out takes a touch into space and then fires right-footed straight at Marshall. Shame that would have been a good goal.

min: Marshall palms away Oster's cross to Kuqi but the angle is very tight and he only manages to miscue it back over his head. Pure Shefki - though he has been very good again today.

min: GOAL. Norwich are back in this. Neat interplay down the right gives Croft time to cross and the unmarked Pattison dives to head home six yards out. He was Oster's man but the Welshman had lost him.

min: Kuqi powers down the left to set up a two on one but with Scannell free in the middle Kuqi's ball hits Clingan.

min: SUB: Derry replaces Carle who hasn't been bad but was a little anonymous in the second half.

min: Attendance: 24,034

min: Kuqi looks absolutely shattered out there and his every touch is being booed by the home fans who remember his Ipswich days.

min: Lita goes for the spectacular 25 yards out as Clyne can only head Marshall's long punt into the strikers path, but his half volley flies well wide and well over.

min: Norwich carve Palace open down the right and eventually set up Fotheringham 25 yards but his drive goes about a foot wide.

min: It's all Norwich now and Fonte brings Hoolahan down 25 yards out...

min: Which Pattison curls around the wall but straight at Speroni.

min: SUB: The absolutely shattered Kuqi is replaced by Andrew.

min: Palace are keeping Norwich in their own half but they don't have many options when they get the ball.

min: Ostemobor breaks forward but Oster smothers the danger. Norwich are passing the ball around nicely but not getting into the final third.

min: SUB: Lupoli on, Bell off

min: Lita closes down Speroni's clearance but uses his hand. Close that though.

min: Three more minutes as Andrew tries to curl on but it is easy for Marshall.

min: Andrew clears a corner at the near post before Lita is found offside again.

min: Still Norwich press and it is another corner.

min: SUb: Beattie off, Lawrence on before the corner.

min: It's over everyone and that's that.

FULL TIME: Back to back wins for the Eagles could see them in the top half tonight. Norwich pressed second half but it was too little to late and they created little. Next up is QPR at home on Saturday, see you then.
