FULL TIME: What a game. Palace romped into a three goal lead and were excellent first half but just didn't appear in the second and had to hold on for the win, just. Speroni made some very important saves but we begin with a win and that's what matters. The players leave the pitch to much applause and they deserve it. We need more players, that's a certainty and we are not top of the league anymore and not even in the play-off places but who cares. I'm not about for Yeovil or Barnsley I am afraid but will be back for Ipswich. See you then.

FULL TIME: Finally.

94 min: Where's that whistle?

93 min: One minute and Speroni has the ball again.

92 min: Two minutes and Andrew get a boot in the face and is made to go off for treatment. That will add another 30 seconds.

91 min: Three minutes left and it's a goal kick to Palace.

90 min: FOUR minutes added on. Where did that come from?

89 min: Leicester do a foul throw in their own corner flag, thank you very much.

87 min: Dorman wins a free kick in his own box. It's backs to the wall time.

84 min: Davis makes a horrible mistake and lets Howard free to cross for Campbell at the back post to slot home.

84 min: GOAL. oh no.

84 min: Attendance, 17,486. Not bad.

82 min: Palace have a chance to break but Andrew loses the ball and then Dorman gives away a free kick. that Morrison hooks over the bar.

80 min: Still very quiet as Bennett, who has been good, clears a corner for another corner that Speroni catches. Palace need to hold on to the ball for a while.

77 min: SUB: Zaha goes off to a standing ovation and is replaced by Djilali.

75 min: Leicester catch Palace out with a quick throw and Speroni saves from Howard. The Eagles then break and Ambrose finds himself one on one but Weale saves.

73 min: McCarthy heads the ball against Howard and Speroni makes a super reaction save. It's only Leicester who are going to score now.

70 min: McCarthy clears for a corner inside his own six-yard box and then heads clear the corner.

69 min: Speroni saves fro Dyer and with a little help from Davis he gathers the loose ball. Selhurst is quiet.

67 min: Bennett with a good tackle in the Palace box, Leicester can smell a point here. Palace are retreating further and further back and offering nothing. Zaha looks shattered.

64 min: 4-5-1 for Palace now with Zaha out wide and N'Diaye behind lone man Andrew up front. Things did need shoring up.

63 min: SUBS: Cadogan, who has been fantastic and Lee, come off and are replaced by Andrew and N'Diaye.

63 min: Campbell plays Howard through and Speroni slips but gets there jsut in time. Andrew and N'Daiye waiting to come on for Palace.

61 min: SUB: Fryatt off, Howard on.

59 min: SUB: N'Guessan off, Wellens on.

58 min: Nielson crosses from the right and ANDY KING is in acres of space to head home at the back post. Uh oh.

58 min: GOAL FOR LEICESTER.

56 min: Dyer hits the crossbar for Leicester from an acute angle with a fierce drive. Palace need to get their tempo going again, they've been a bit slugglish so far this half.

52 min: Dorman wins a free kick that Ambrose skids along the ground and Weale gets down well to save.

51 min: "Wonderful to watch bbc live updated table – Palace alone at the top." Sigve. It is indeed Sigve, yet I cannot help the nervous feeling.

49 min: Bright sunshine out at Selhurst now and the crowd are a bit quieter, maybe they're feeling a little nervous like me.

46 min: Here we go, Palace need to keep their cool and not concede for 15 minutes. Leicester are bound to come out all guns blazing. No subs.

HALF-TIME: Speroni dives to his right to save from Dyer and there's the half-time whistle. I don't think anyone anywhere in the world expected that. I need a drink to calm down. See you in 15.

45 min: Dyer wins a free kick and curls it wide. There's some consternation between Speroni, McCarthy and Davis as to the organisation of the wall.

42 min: Leicester should have one back as N'Guessen gets round Clyne to the bye-line and crosses for Fryatt four yards out but puts the ball wide. Palace need to keep concentrating though the crowd are singing 'we are top of the league, say we are top of the league."

39 min: Cadogan does brilliantly again to play in Zaha who skips around a defender and shoots. Weale can only palm it into the path of ALAN LEE who keeps his cool to volley home. Unbelievable.

39 min: ANOTHER GOAL ANOTHER GOAL!!

38 min: Davis lets the ball slip under his foot on the slippery surface and it looks like Fryatt might be in but again captain Paddy clears up.

32 min: Lee having treatment to something on his face by the dig out and Andrew looks like he might be getting ready but Lee is back on.

31 min: Cadogan is having a blinder out there. Tracking back and making plenty of tackles.

27 min: Samba atmosphere around Palace as Cadogan uses a trick then lays the ball to DARREN AMBROSE 25 yards out who shoots into the bottom corner via a slight deflection. I cannot believe what I'm seeing.

26 min: GOAL FOR AMBROSE.

24 min: Lee wins a free kick for Ambrose to have his first shot but curls well over. Torrential rain out there now and fans are running for cover.

20 min: A new star is born as WILFRIED ZAHA latches on to Alan Lee's flick on and fires with so much composure beyond Weale you'd think he had been playing for years. Selhurst erupts.

19 min: GOAL GOAL GOAL FOR PALACE.!!!

15 min: A bit of pressure for Palace and Garvan has a shot blocked before Leicester break and captain Paddy gets in another good tackle before Neilson hits the bar with a header but he's offside. Good game.

14 min: "Great to have you back – listening to Palace radio to Palace player and enjoying your comments. This will be a very good season indeed for Palace – Let us go for a win today." Sigve from Norway.

12 min: Garvan plays a beautiful pass outwide to Ambrose but his cross is hooked over everyone before Garvan crosses for Lee but his header goes well well wide. That's encouraging.

10 min: Chance for Leicester as Dyer gets on the end of a ball over the top but cannot control his volley enough to lob Speroni. Should have done better and thats a warning for Palace.

10 min: Dorman almost plays Zaha in but Weale gathers just ahead of the teenager.

8 min: Leicester with more of the possession at the minute and Palace look a little nervous. Zaha's had a few nice touches but Cadogan's not really got in the game yet. Garvan's made a few decent tackles playing in front of the back four.

3 min: Fryatt gets through a woeful tackle from Davis and bears down on the box but captain Paddy comes across and clears.

1 min: We're off. 4-4-2- for Palace.

3pm: "Greetings from sunny Swaziland in Southern Africa. Good luck to George Burley, Dougie Freedman and the team. Let's have a financial worry-free season!" Phil Perry. I couldn't agree more Phil.

2.59pm: George Burley and Dougie Freedman follow the players out as Glad All Over blares out over the stereo. They get their own massive round of applause. Here we go, ladies, gentleman, boys and girls. The start of the 2010-2011 Championship season.

2.55pm: Parish, Long and Stephen Browett are announced to the crowd and walk out to the centre circle with a round of applause not heard at Palace for a long time. I've spoken to Parish before and he's a very nice man, a bit of a geeezer but a very nice man too. Well done lads and thank you for saving our club. Now let the football begin.

2.53pm: New owners Martin Long and Steve Parish are down by the dugout with a gaggle of photographers around them. I guess there is going to be some unveiling soon. The Holmesdale have brough out some red and blues ribbons running the length of the lower teir, looks fantastic.

2.48pm: The players go in from their warm down and get a standing ovation from the Palace fans already in their seats. Oh the excitement is building.

2.38pm: Just noticed the away fans have moved which I forgot. They are at the far end of the Arthur Wait now near the family stand. It will be interesting to see how that effects the atmosphere.

2.30pm: Leicester team: Weale, Neilson, Morrison, Hobbs, Berner, Oakley, King, Dyer, N'Guessan, Fryatt, Campbell. Subs: Howard, Logan, Kennedy, Wellens, Parkes, John, Moor.

2.23pm: Out come the players for their warm-up and and applause breaks out around the ground. Most notably for Darren Ambrose and new captain Paddy McCarthy.

2.22pm: I must admit I am both surprised and excited by that line-up. Cadogan and Zaha have been very exciting in pre-season so perhaps deserve their chance. Davis had a shocker at Brentford last week so I thought Barrett would be in ahead of him but maybe that's why I am not a manager.

2.20pm: Palace: Speroni, Clyne, Davis, McCarthy, Bennett, Ambrose, Dorman, Garvan, Cadogan, Zaha, Lee. Subs: Price, Andrew, Barrett, Holland, N'Diaye, Holness, Djilali.

2.15pm: BREAKING NEWS - Wilfried Zaha and Kieron Cadogan start for Palace.

2.10pm: Big shock in League One as favourites for the title Southampton, complete with Danny Butterfield and Jose Fonte, go down 1-0 at home to Plymouth.

2pm: All players have been cleared to play today despite the club still being in administration as they await the Football League share so we will see new signings Owen Garvan, Adam Barrett, Julian Bennett and Andy Dorman. David Wright is out with a hamstring strain though.

1.55pm: It's here finally, after all the talk and takeover speculation we can finally get down to on-pitch matters and I for one am very very excited. Are you?
