MILLWALL 3 v 0 CRYSTAL PALACE

FULL TIME: That was not an enjoyable start to 2011.

93 min: Danns should score but shoots striaght at Forde. Typical.

90 min: FOUR minutes added on. Why oh why do you torture me Mr Swarbrick?

87 min: Scannell wins a free kick 25 yards out in Neil Danns territory...can he repeat his trick from Bristol the other day ....surprisingly not. He hits the wall after Calvin Andrew provided a wonderful decoy run - it was actually fairly funny to watch. Maybe he should be an actor?

84 min: SUB: Puncheon off to a standing ovation and it's rightly deserved. On comes Henry.

82 min: Now Millwall are ironically cheering every Palace pass. This is embarrassing. If I could go home I would.

80 min: SUB: Ambrose off, Andrew on to some boos.

79 min: Millwall fans ole-ing every pass now. This is too much.

76 min: Apart from those 25 minutes at the start of this half, Palace have been completely out-played. Millwall's midfield has run the game and the Eagles have been short of ideas. Scannell has had the odd spark but it's difficult asking him to pretty much play up front on his own with Counago dropping into midfield. They need players and they need them quick . At the moment they are just not good enough for this league sadly.

74 min: SUB AND YELLOW CARD. Cadogan replaces Counago and then Danns clatters someone and gets a yellow.

71 min: Palace fans leaving in their droves as Puncheon is given acres of time to arrow in a shot from the the edge of the box.

71 min: GOAL AND HAT-TRICK. Match over.

70 min: Puncheon goes for a hat-trick from 30 yards but that's well over. Palace's head are down and I see no way back from here. I think Cadogan is getting ready.

68 min: McCarhty on Trotter get in a tangle just off the pitch and the Palace captain appears to kick out but escapes a second booking.

64 min: It's PUNCHEON again who gets the wrong side of Clyne and takes his time before passing the ball beyond Speroni. The Millwall fans start to chant 'You're Going Down'. Penny for George Burley and Steve Parish's thoughts right now.

64 min: GOAL MILLWALL.

63 min: Danns attacks Garvan's corner but heads over. The ref gives another corner bizaarely that Ward clears ahead of McCarthy. The ref then evens things out by giving that as a goal kick.

62 min: SUB: McQuoid off, Marquis on.

62 min: Counago and Scannell combine and the latter forces a good save from Forde.

60 min: Garvan loses the ball under pressure from McQuoid who shoots from the edge of the box. Speroni saves but fumbles and Barrett has to slide in to clear ahead of Trotter. Palace riding their luck again.

58 min: SUB: Marrow can't continue and on comes Zaha in his place. He will play wide right with Danns and Garvan in the middle.

56 min: Bennett, Counago, Danns and Garvan do well to set Clyne free down the right but his cross is horribly overhit. Much better from Palace this half - there's actually been some movement from the players which was lacking first half. Break in play as Marrow and Puncheon get treatment.

54 min: Great defending from Clyne as Marrow's slip leaves him as the last defender. He doesn't panic though as McQuoid comes at him and wins the ball.

51 min: Palace string a whole heap of passes together and eventually Scannell gets a cross in that no one is at the back post to tap in.

48 min: Counago wins a free kick but yet again Forde comes out and claims Garvan's delivery without any pressure.

47 min: "Although it's not looking great, I think Palace are still in with a shout and I'm optimistic about the second half. Palace are way short of confidence though. Iverson will be a good signing, he's the best header of a ball you'll see at this level. Gyepes coming from Cardiff may not be though as his confidence is shot after being made a scapegoat for Cardiffs defensive problems(as if we haven't got enough already)." - David Buchanan.

46 min: We're off again.

HALF TIME: I haven't seen it but apparently the disallowed goal was a foot over the line. Could that be the bit of luck Palace need here? Unless things drastically improve I doubt it. The players are out again.

HALF TIME: Trotter skies another chance just over and that's half time. Millwall should be clear here really, they are by far the better team and Palace need to buck up their ideas or they are going to lose by a mile.

45 min: TWO minutes added on and half time cannot come quick enough for Palace as Trotter heads on to the roof of the net.

44 min: YELLOW CARD. McCarthy up ends McQuoid and goes in the book. That's his fifth booking too so he and Marrow will miss Monday's game with Preston. It's getting feisty here.

40 min: Millwall break agin and Schofield, who appears to have started instead of Henry, sets up Barron but he miskicks. That all came from Marrow not going in for a tackle for fear of a second yellow. Danns lunged in on Abdou just now but thankfully got the ball. If he hadn't it would have been red.

39 min: Millwall should be 2-0 up. They earn a corner from the free kick and there's an almighty scramble and it looks very much like the ball goes over the line before Barrett clears but nothing given despite the protestations of the home team.

37 min: YELLOW CARD: Marrow goes through the back of someone and is the first to go in the ref's book today. That's his fifth booking.

35 min: Palace have been in this more since the change around in midfield and makme a good opening there but Ambrose horribly overhits his cross and the ball goes for a throw. Barron then wastes about two minutes by relacing his boots.

32 min: Trotter should do better with that as a neatly worked corner comes back out to him but he sidefoots straight at Speroni.

30 min: Better from Palace as Scannell earns another corner whcih Ward just heads clear ahead of Bennett and then Scannell lobs wide.

27 min: Scannell wins a free kick 30 yards out that Ambrose blasts low towards goal. Forder can only parry it but just as Counago goes to tap in the rebound, the keeper gets a hand to it and pushed it away. Good keeping. Palace have some possession after but Millwall's willingness to put them under pressure eventually sees Palace give it away.

26 min: Change in midfield for Palace. Garvan has gone into the middle with Marrow, Danns is wide right and Ambrose wide left. They need to do something as they are being overrun at the minute.

20 min: Finally a bit of possession for Palace but it's all around the half way line and eventually breaks down. Millwall looking very good at the minute.

16 min: Danns gives away a silly free kick in a dangerous position but Puncheon's ball in takes a few ricochets before finding it's way to Speroni. He launches a counter attack from whcih Scannell flashes a shot across goal. Palace's first real opening.

13 min: Great tackle from McCarthy to recover and block McQuoid after he and the rest of the defence stopped and appealed for offside. Palace are rocking and need to get some possession.

12 min: Craig crunches into Scannell fairly and then Marrow also fairly clatters Abdou. Nothing like a bit of derby spice.

9 min: Palace are going to have to do this the hard way then. They fail to properly clear a throw in and McQuoid's header falls nicely for JASON PUNCHEON to volley into the bottom corner from the edge of the area. Great finish.

8 min: GOAL MILLWALL.

6 min: Ambrose's delivery is claimed by Forde at the back post.

5 min: Palace struggling to get into the game at the bit. Their passing hasn't been great but Scannell earns a corner there.

2 min: It's loud here - very loud. Millwall with the early possession.

1.30pm: Here we go - Palace to play towards their fans this half.

1.29pm: Palace sold out their ticket allocation today and you can certainly hear them.

1.26pm: The Millwall man announcing the teams on the pitch makes it very clear that Morison is out with flu - not that he is in the middle of negotiating a switch to the Premiership (he didn't sayt that last part obviously). Out come the teams.

1.25pm: Great atmosphere here as the teams are read out. Millwall boo the Palace team but the Palace fans outcheer them. It's vice versa as the Millwall team is read out.

1.22pm: Just before the players went in from their warm down, Dougie Freedman took them over to the travelling away fans and gave the supporters a good ol' fist pump. Let's hope that gets them up for this.

1.20pm: I'm in my seat outside now and I must say it's not a bad ground this - it's my first time here would you believe. There's a nice view of Canary Wharf in the distance.

1pm: No Steve Morison for Millwall today - he has flu. That's a boost.

12.54pm: Millwall team - Forde, Barron, Ward, Smith, Craig, Trotter, Puncheon, Henry, Mkandawire, Abdou, McQuoid. Subs: Mildenhall, Carter, Schofield, Harris, Hackett, Laird, Marquis.

12.53pm: Palace subs: Price, Zaha, Dorman, Andrew, Cadogan, N'Diaye, Gardner.

12.50pm: Apparently Owen Garvan will be playing left wing with Ambrose right wing and Danns staying in the middle following his impressive performance there at Bristol City.

12.48pm: Palace team - Speroni, Clyne, McCarthy, Barrett, Bennett, Garvan, Marrow, Danns, Ambrose, Counago, Scannell. Not sure exactly on the subs yet.

12.45pm: Had a sneak peak at a team sheet and lots of changes for Palace. In come Barrett, Marrow, Garvan and Ambrose for the injured Davis, the suspended Wright and the dropped Andrew and Zaha - who are on the bench.

12.40pm: Hello and welcome to the lunchtime kick-off here at The New Den. I've survived getting into the ground without being set upon by the home fans and I'm now in the nice comfortable press box munching on some sandwiches to help rid me of my New Year hangover.
