Tottenham Hotspur duo Ryan Mason and Andros Townsend have been called up by England for a friendly with the Republic of Ireland and a European Championships qualifier against Slovenia next month.

Mason made his England debut as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Italy in March and has been a regular for Spurs this term, making 36 appearances in all competitions.

The 23-year-old is joined by winger Townsend, who will be looking to add to his seven international caps. He netted the equaliser in England's draw in Turin earlier this year - his third goal for the Three Lions.

Roy Hodgson's side will face the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Sunday, June 7 before travelling to Slovenia for the 2016 European Championships qualifier in  Ljubljana a week later.
