Crystal Palace’s interest in Loic Remy could be blown out of the water after reports that the Chelsea striker is on his way to West Ham United.

The 29-year-old missed the end of last season after picking up a groin injury in April, and he has yet to feature in Antonio Conte’s plans this time around.

He joined Chelsea in 2014 in an £8.5m move from QPR, and scored 12 goals in 46 appearances for the Blues mostly coming off the bench.

Reports out of his native France indicate that Crystal Palace have agreed a loan deal with the option of a permanent move.

However, the Hammers’ injury crisis - which has robbed them of Andre Ayew, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho – has forced them back into the market place, and they are also believed to have held talks with Chelsea.

Meanwhile, following the EFL Cup win over Blackpool on Tuesday night, Palace have been drawn away to Southampton – one of Pardew’s former employers – in the next round in the week starting September 19.
