Crystal Palace need to be prepared to offer Wilfried Zaha an improved contract if they are to block the interest shown by Tottenham, reports say.

The north London club have made Zaha a late summer target and tabled a bid in the region of £15m for the winger yesterday (August 25).

Palace are said to be determined to keep hold of the England international but it is believed that Zaha is tempted to move across the capital with the lure of Champions League football on offer.

The Daily Mirror say Palace are in a strong negotiating position as Zaha still has four years remaining on his current contract at Selhurst Park.

However, it is reported that a new bumper contract would need to be offered to fight off the interest Spurs are showing.

It is also claimed that Zaha, who first joined the Palace academy at the age of 12, is frustrated that his current contract falls way below that of several new signings, including Bakary Sako.

Zaha, 23, has made over 160 league appearances for Palace since making his debut for the club in 2010.
