Tottenham Hotspur’s record signing Eric Lamela is among a host of players set to leave the club who have failed to live up to their impressive transfer fees.

Lamela, 23, was signed for a club record £30 million in the summer of 2013, but has scored just twice in 28 Premier League starts since then and his inconsistency has proved an issue.

Despite the Argentine winger wanting to stay at the club, Spurs are now reportedly in talks with at least one club in Italy - said to be Juventus - over a possible deal, according to the Daily Mirror.

Roberto Soldado, who was signed in the same window as Lamela for £26 million, is also surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane and Spurs are understood to be in talks with Galatasaray over a move.

Other potential departures from White Hart Lane may include Etienne Capoue and Vlad Chiriches, both of whom were funded by Tottenham’s sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid in 2013.

French midfielder Capoue, who signed for £9 million from Toulouse, has been linked with to newly-promoted Watford, but it is reported that Tottenham want to recoup most of the fee they paid for him and the Hornets would prefer a loan deal with an option to buy.

Meanwhile, Romanian central defender Chiriches cost Spurs £8.3 million from Steaua Bucharest and is now being linked with Swiss outfit FC Basel.

Younes Kaboul, Emmanuel Adebayor and Aaron Lennon are also thought to be among those likely to leave the north Londoners this summer.
