After a week that included the start of the Epsom season, it now ends with 2 days at Sandown including what is recognised as the End of the Jump Season, with a two day televised meeting.

The big race on Saturday is the Celebration Chase at Sandown.

This race has a big favourite in Sire De Grugy, who is remembered as being involved in one of the moments of the Cheltenham Festival after being an easy winner of the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

The after-race scenes with the Crystal Palace supporting Preston Family decked in red and blue were memorable to all in attendance with even the Duchess of Cornwall wearing a red and blue scarf as the trophies were presented.

Sandown TV Picks for Friday: 1.40 – Sacred Act – The Buick/Gosden team has been in great form, and this should be another victory for them.

2.10 – Telescope – The horse may well need the run, but should be more than capable of victory, despite the threat of Godolphin hope Skyhunter, and Frankel relative Noble Mission.

2.45 – Top Notch Tonto – Talented horse, has the form to win and a deserved favourite for this race.

3.15 – Master Carpenter e/w – Western Hymn should be a comfortable victor, but under Ryan Moore,

Doncaster – 1.50 – Natural Choice. Second Godolphin horse in the race, but Kieren Fallon has been a good jockey over the Winter out in Dubai for Godolphin.

Doncaster – 2.55 – Perfect Heart. Should improve for the run, and likely to enjoy the better ground.
