Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock admits he has no idea how many players he will have left when the transfer window slams shuts next Monday.

Jose Fonte and Ryan Smith are the only players to leave the club so far this month but they are expected to be followed by others before the deadline in seven days time.

With the Eagles currently under a transfer embargo, after it emerged they still owed Charlton Athletic £100,000 for Paddy McCarthy, Warnock will not be able to sign any replacements and could be left with a stick-thin squad by the time Palace face Wolves in their FA Cup replay on Tuesday.

"I haven't heard anything but the chairman is dealing with all that," he said.

"I think it will all be very last minute.

"We haven't had any enquiries for players other than Jose and Victor Moses but if they all keep playing the way they are then I think there will be some this week.

"We have an embargo on us as well so we cannot sign anyone so we have no idea what team we will have by this time next week."

Nick Carle was on the verge of a switch to Chinese side Shaanxi Chanba and flew out there last week to discuss terms.

However, he decided to turn down the move after rejecting parts of the contract on offer and Warnock revealed there had been no other enquiries for the Australian international.

"I have no idea whether he will go or not at the minute," he said "I have not spoken to anybody about him."
