Sporting feast at Kingsmeadow

The Surrey track and field championships, with two days of non-stop athletics, are held at Kingsmeadow Stadium this weekend.

Saturday's programme starts at 10am and Sunday's at 10.30am. with action going through to 6pm on both days.

Wimbledon schoolmaster James Trapmore aims for a repeat win when he competes in the Coombe Hill five-mile road race on Sunday.

The race starts near Coombe Hill Junior School (9.45am), where organiser Grenville Tuck, the former international, is caretaker.

The event will raise funds for the school's parents association.

Epsom Allsorts stage their Hogsmill Ladies five-mile road race from the Harrier Centre, Poole Road, West Ewell on Sunday (10am).

Sunday sees the annual Ranelagh Harriers Richmond half-marathon starting in River Lane, Petersham (8.30am).

There is an entry limit of 1,000 for the race, which is part of the Surrey Road League.
