Tim Pinnock’s penalty corner strike three minutes from time secured MHL Premier Division bottom club Surbiton a 2-2 draw at Hampstead & Westminster on Sunday, writes Sean Cotter and Colin Pike.
 

Pinnock, pictured right, fired home with the hosts missing a padded-up goalkeeper after the original shotstopper had been sin-binned two minutes earlier.

Alexander Penney gave the visitors an early lead from a penalty corner, but Hampstead hit back to go ahead themselves moments before Pinnock’s leveller.

Surbiton Ladies’ trip to Investec Women’s Hockey League Premier Division leaders Canterbury on Sunday will be key to hopes of qualifying for the end of season play-offs.
 

Goals from Abi Robinson and Vicky Bryant gave their side a 2-0 win over bottom club Slough at Sugden Road on Sunday, but it could and probably hould have been more.
 

Canterbury’s draw at Olton & West Warwicks means second-placed Leicester and third-placed Surbiton are just a point adrift of the table-toppers going into the weekend.
 

Surbiton’s men host  Brooklands Manchester University in the league on Saturday, before entertaining Conference West Preston in the EHB Cup on Sunday.
