Merton’s girls’ hockey go for glory in the finals of the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace this weekend.

The team, consisting of players from a range of schools in Merton, including Ursuline High School and Wimbledon High School, qualified from their group at Redbridge Sports Centre. Squad: Laura D'Silva, Rebecca Stone, Grace Morgan, Morgan Murphy, Chloe Deegan, Chloe Webster, Mira Adhikari, Mia Amasanti, Michaela Howell.

Merton’s team manager Anna Price said: “We did fantastically, especially considering the girls are quite young – they can compete at the Games for another two years. I am proud of how they excelled themselves.

“We are all looking forward to coming back for the finals at Crystal Palace.”
