Manchester City have won the Premier League title after Manchester United were beaten by West Brom on Sunday.

City’s win over Tottenham on Saturday meant their rivals needed to avoid defeat to keep the title battle alive, but Jay Rodriguez’s header gave rock-bottom Albion a precious win.

Here, Press Association Sport takes a look at some of the eye-catching statistics achieved by Pep Guardiola’s side.

5 – City have won the title with five games remaining, equalling the record set by United in the 2000-01 campaign.

18 – the record top-flight winning run achieved by City between August 26 against Bournemouth and December 27 at Newcastle. Crystal Palace ended the sequence with a goalless draw on New Year’s Eve.

2 – defeats this season, to Liverpool in January and United with the title on the line. Everton, Palace and Burnley are the only other teams to take points off City this term.

8 – City are only eight points off Chelsea’s record for a Premier League season, set in 2004-05. Three more wins will be enough to set a new mark.

2.82 – goals per game, leaving City on course to beat Chelsea’s 2009-10 record for a Premier League season of 103 (2.71 per game).
