Ks defender Francis Duku reckons his goalscoring exploits against Boreham Wood are no flash in the pan.

Boss Alan Dowson joked last week he was happy with just one goal a season from the former Lewes and Staines Town man after claiming he had missed some chances that were easier to score this season.

But Duku insists that having got his Ks goal tally up and running, he wouldn’t be surprised if he added a few more between now and the end of the season.

“When I’ve scored goals in the past I have tended to get them in clutches,” he said.

“We’ll just have to wait and see how big that clutch is this time. It does happen.”

Last weekend’s 4-1 win over Boreham Wood cemented Ks grip on a play-off place, yet there remains a host of teams below Dowson’s men with games in hand - casting some doubt over their chances of finishing second behind champions-elect Dartford.

But Duku reckons the squad cannot afford to concern themselves with the fortunes of clubs around them in the Ryman League Premier Division promotion chase.

“We can’t do anything about the points we have dropped now,” he added.

“We’ve had our chances to win games earlier in the season, but maybe weren’t able to take them. That is history.

“We are still in a decent position in the league and have just got to keep on winning our games to keep the pressure on other teams.

“We have the points on the board already. We can’t worry about others, we just have to concentrate on own games to make sure we are where we want to be come the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, Dowson has confirmed the capture of 21-year-old midfielder Luke I'Anson from Conference South side Bromley - placing the futures of Ryman League Division One South winner Tommy Williams and Liam Collins in further doubt.

“I've watched Luke a few times and he’s an excellent attacking midfielder who will help give us an extra edge in the middle,” added Dowson.
