Boss Alan Dowson reckons Kingstonian star Christian Jolley will be the latest non-League footballer to step into the professional ranks this summer.

The 22-year-old, who is already under contract at Kingsmeadow next season, has earned a host of plaudits this season as Ks reached the Ryman League Premier Division play-off final.

Kingstonian’s landlords AFC Wimbledon, who will go full-time this summer, are in the market for young professionals to bolster their Blue Square Premier chances and are reportedly interested in making a bid for the tricky winger.

Dowson, who watched his side crash 2-0 at Boreham Wood in controversial circumstances at the weekend, says the Dons are one of six clubs tracking Jolley’s progress.

And the 39-year-old manager, a former pro himself, insists he will personally make sure his next move is the best one for a player who was playing Sunday league football 12 months ago.

“Christian is a great talent and there are five or six clubs looking at him at the moment,” he said.

“If someone wants him they will have to buy him. He wants to play professional football and we won’t stand in his way, but I’ll be making sure he makes the right move for him and the club.

“He is a cracking lad and a lot of people in the game are talking about him. I’m sure he will be a professional footballer one day.”
