Dean Hamlin has committed his future to Kingstonian and could not be happier.

The defender is one of six first-team players to have signed on for next season, joining top scorer Bobby Traynor, goalkeeper and player of the season Rob Tolfrey and fellow defenders Tom Bird, Gary MacDonald and Tom Hutchinson in staying at Kingsmeadow.

It is a vast contrast to last summer, when the 27-year-old left Tooting & Mitcham and spent a month in limbo between clubs.

"I am very pleased to be staying," said Hamlin, who works as an oil broker.

"Last year, it took a while to get everything sorted, I wasn't sure where I was going after I left Tooting, so it is good to have it done nice and early this summer.

"It was an easy decision to make really, I love it at Kingstonian.

"I really enjoyed last season and get on well with the boys and Mark Hams, Alan Dowson and Martin Tyler so I am very pleased to be staying there.

"They looked after me when I was injured for the last two months of the season too."

Hamlin injured ankle ligaments against Hastings United in March and missed the last seven matches as Kingstonian let a play-off place slip with a 3-3 draw at Margate on the last day.

He expects to be fit for pre-season training though and believes Ks can push for the Ryman Premier League title next season.

"We want to push to win the league," he said.

"With Sutton United gone I think we will be one of the stronger sides.

"Dowse and Hams will sign a few players where we need to strengthen and fill those positions.

"There is a bit of a basis there already with the players from last year that we wanted to keep hold of that have signed and I think with a few new additions we will have a really good squad."
