The Keightley brothers produced an astonishing bat and ball double act on Saturday to keep Teddington in the mix for the Middlesex County League Premier Division title.

In a comprehensive six-wicket win over Winchmore Hill that lifted them to third, David and James Keightley both starred.

David started the show by recording figures of 5-30 as Winchmore were all out for 162, before handing over to opener James.

He put on a 103-run first-wicket partnership with fellow opener James Wade and then went on to score 108 of Teddington’s 167 runs as they eased to victory.

This Saturday, Teddington are away at second-placed Hampstead, knowing another victory will be vital for their Championship chances.

“If we win, that would mean we are right back in the mix,” said Teddington captain Joe Austin.

“At the beginning of the season we looked at the league and we knew we wanted to be top two and challenging to win it.”

Richmond won a nervous Middlesex Cricket Division One game by one wicket over Eastcote on Saturday. Having put Eastcote into bowl, Michael Woods took three wickets for 12 runs in a seven-over spell as Eastcote were bowled out for 119.

It was a target well within Richmond’s grasp when they were 70-1 but they collapsed to 85-6 and then 119-9 before Jack Porter and Steve Stacey edged them home. They host bottom club Ealing on Saturday.
