Imran Khalid's unbeaten 89 steered Kingstonian to a winning draw at Dorking.

And at one point it even looked like he was set to guide his side to an unlikely win after an unbeaten stand of 59 with Ameer Hussain (20 not out).

But in the end Ks closed on 168-7 from 45 overs in pursuit of the home side's 189-9 in their maximum 55.

Zulfi Jan marked his return to the country with a couple of wickets, but Hussain also showed his worth with the ball by taking 4-52 from 19 to help peg back a Dorking side who looked set to post a target well in excess of 200.

Only one other Ks batsman got into double figures, which is the sort of inconsistency they must conquer if they are to challenge for promotion after dropping down a division last season.

Ks second team scored their first win of the season thanks to Agha Tahir's 77 in 150-4 after Staines and Laleham were bowled out for 149 (Gayan Sirimanne 3-23, Melvin Desouza 3-27).
