More than 300 spectators saw Mitcham basketball star Peter Scantlebury make his playing comeback at the CIA Basketball Festival on Saturday.
The 43-year-old former England head coach came out of retirement to lead his Old School All Stars side to a 110-104 victory in a showcase exhibition match against some the country's best young talent at Canons Leisure Centre in Mitcham.
The 6ft 4in guard, who is coach of British Basketball League side Sheffield Eagles, helped raise more than £900 for charity and proved the star attraction, with Sutton-based London United star Gareth Laws also taking part.
CIA man Benji Lawmann claimed the spectacular slam dunk competition title and promoter Luke Bowler hailed the event as a huge success.
"Scants said he thought it was the most fun he had had on a basketball court in a long time," he said. "It is the second time we have run the festival and to attract so many people is a testament to the game's popularity."
