Amer Delic, a Bosnian-born American ranked at 65 in the world, is joined by 19-year-old American sensation Sam Querrey, who made the third round of the Australian Open on his grand slam debut.
In the women's singles, former world number eight, Alicia Molik of Australia, heads a strong entry.
The quality of the field is reflected by the fact there is no automatic place for three-time champion Kristina Brandi.
She must gain entry via qualifying along with leading Brits Anne Keothavong, Katie O'Brien, Melanie South and Amanda Keen.
