Surrey junior cross country champion Sam Perkins posted his fifth win in 24 appearances in the Bushy Park 5km time trial, just holding off Edinburgh-based Ray Ward on Saturday.
They were neck-and-neck for most of the way before teenager Perkins (pictured) pulled ahead in the final stages, winning in 15 minutes 44 seconds, three seconds outside his best time.
Ward, older brother of Belgrave's Richard, took 11 seconds off his best to clock 15:45.
Claygate-based Tim Grose was first veteran (17:29) and Merton leisure services officer Ruth Hutton first woman (19:28).
Newcomer Mike Farmer of South London Harriers won the Wimbledon Common time trial (17:45), with Thames Hare & Hounds' Kate Symons first woman (20:35).
The start of the Wimbledon Common events has been brought forward to 8.30am each Saturday. The Bushy Park runs continue to start at 9am.
