Marsh Farm has long been the mecca for crucian carp enthusiasts and they have certainly been coming to the fore at this excellently managed Godalming fishery, writes Ray Robson.

An evening session gave Duncan Charman a whopping 14 crucians topped by a mighty 3lb 3oz fish.

Duncan had pre-baited the night before with the pellets and returned armed with Sobubait pellet on the hook.

There was also a successful evening session for air traffic controller Ross Lawson, who fished the pole armed with Yorkshire Baits Liver Amino pellets to bank a stunning crucian of 3lb 10oz, plus two others over the 3lb mark.

Avon Angling tackle dealer Andy Browne opted for waggler in pursuit of crucians and landed seven fish, the biggest of them 3lb 11oz.

Tanyards was the lucky venue last week for bus driver Tony Marcello who legered luncheon meat, a piece the size of a matchbox, which proved irresistable to a 21lb 8oz common carp.

At the recently reopened Yateley North Lake, Ben Allen legered a Mainline pro-activ pineapple boilie.

His first run gave him a 29lb 4oz common carp and, later in the session, the same tactics gave him a double figure mirror and a 34lb catfish.

Geoff Porter had a great day at Old Bury Hill. Fishing the hungle swims from a boat, he landed several quality tench to 6lb before a shoal of 4lb bream moved in and took over.

Ben fished caster and fed pellet to attract and hold the fish.
