Peter Chambers followed up his third consecutive London Mini-Marathon victory with a double gold medal haul in the Young Athlete's National Premier League on Sunday.

The 14 year-old Croydon Harrier won the 13 to 14 category at the marathon on April 25 in 16 minutes and one second, half a minute ahead of his nearest rival.

On Sunday, he cruised to victory in both the 800m and 1500m at Lea Valley, helping Harriers to third place in the first meeting of the year.

Joe Yarde shone with an U17 hurdles double and Cameron Smith did likewise in the sprints while Faraz Rafi scored maximum points in the discus and shot as well as taking third in the hammer.

The Harriers girls contributed well too with U15 Eleanor Smith Hahn catching the eye with a fine 800m win and Sherin Irving winning the high jump.

The Croydon girls also scored impressive wins in the U15 and U13 100m relay.

Croydon athletes will be out in force at the Surrey Championships at Kingsmeadow next weekend.
