A record £5m has been given to sports projects across the capital by the London Marathon Charitable Trust this year.

A grant of £150,000 went to the Wilmore End Residents Association, South Wimbledon, to provide new changing rooms at Abbey Road Recreation Ground.

Raynes Park High School received the same amount for the reinstatement of football and cricket pitches and the construction of a pavilion.

£60,000 Church Fields Recreation Ground, Chessington (outdoor multi-sports facility).

£43,127 Friends of Cottenham Park (replacement of children’s playground equipment, security fencing to the cricket pitch).

£25,000 Durnsford Recreation Ground, Wimbledon, (all-weather surfacing).

£25,000 Mostyn Gardens, Wimbledon (outdoor gym facility).

£25,000 Richmond Park (split equally to refurbish playgrounds at Petersham and Kingston Gates).

£15,000 Friends of Tolworth Gym Club (improved foam pit area and softplay equipment).

£10,285 Minima Yacht Club, Kingston (toilet and shower facilities for the disabled).

£10,000 Shillington Street Open Space, Battersea (outdoor gym).

£10,000 Bushy Park (improvements to playground) £8,000 Worcester Park Cricket Club (refurbishment of cricket nets).

£4,750 Carshalton Lawn Tennis Club (refurbishment of short tennis court and practice wall area).
