Tadworth Athletics Club’s Dave Williamson was second of 300 runners in Sunday’s Epsom Oddballs Perch race.
He completed the 6.25-mile multi-terrain course around Nonsuch Park in 38 minutes, 11 seconds, to win the award for first veteran. The event was won by 26.2 Road Running Club’s Luke McDonagh.
Pat Wright finished fifth in 39:13, with Geoff Newton 28th (42:33) and first in the men’s over-60 class.
Meanwhile, Tadworth finished 20th on the day in their Surrey Ladies League Division Two match at Ham Lands, Kingston, and are 19th out of 45 teams in the league after three fixtures.
