Gino Rea had a weekend to forget because of technical problems in the World Supersport Championships at Monza last weekend.
Although a fast lap during first qualifying on Friday but the Ewell racer a provisional third on the grid, he was unable to complete a lap on Saturday, pushing him back to ninth.
In Sunday’s race, the bike leaked oil ahe Rea was flung off his bike, landing hard on his head and tumbling down the circuit.
Luckily Rea suffered just a small fracture to his elbow and some bruises and scrapes over his body.
“This has probably been the worst weekend of my career,” said Ra.
“You have to take the ups with the downs but the whole weekend was a nightmare.
“The whole side of my body has taken a beating.
“We have a break now so I hope we can sort things out for the next round at Misano on June 12.”
