Richmond gave themselves a Middlesex County Premier League survival lifeline by beating relegation rivals Twickenham by 105 runs on Saturday.
Although the victory was not enough to lift them off the foot of the table, it brought them to within two points of Twickenham and 11 behind Brondesbury – who sit outside the drop zone – with three games left.
The win was inspired by a superb bowling display that saw only four Twickenham batsmen make double figures and three out for ducks.
Earlier, captain Simon Elliott (66) and wicket-keeper Alexander Griffiths (77) had starred with the bat as Richmond declared on 249-9, Parminda Singh taking 4-95 for Twickenham.
Twickenham made a steady start in reply, but were soon losing wickets and, despite 43 from Parminda Singh, they were all out for 138.
Twickenham could do themselves and Richmond a huge favour this Saturday if they beat Brondesbury on Twickenham Green, while Richmond go to Finchley.
Teddington kept their title hopes alive with a winning draw at leaders Ealing, bringing them to within 10 points of top spot.
Duncan Wood was the hero, taking 5-37 in a mammoth 24 over spell, as Ealing made 172-7 off 62 overs, chasing Teddington’s 212-8 off 66 overs.
Teddington host mid-table Stanmore on Saturday, as Ealing travel to third-placed Eastcote.
