Shaun Justice believes a positive vote for a new artificial pitch at Rosslyn Park would be "life-changing" for the club.

The National One side have called a Special General Meeting of their members for this Saturday to seek approval to replace their grass pitch in Priory Lane, Richmond, with an ultra-modern artificial 4G pitch.

It would be similar to the £500,000 one installed by Aviva Premiership side Saracens and would enable Park to cope better with the ever increasing demands of their club and host more of their own teams on their home pitch rather than renting pitches in Richmond Park.

"It's very exciting," said managing director Shaun Justice.

"We have a vote on it this weekend, being a members owned club they have to give it the green light. All going well we will begin work on it as soon as possible and hopefully have it installed by May and then be playing on it by September.

"The reward for the club is one we feel is worth the investment, as our big problem is space and facilities for our growing numbers of playing members.

"We have the largest mini and junior set-up in London, five amateur teams and the ladies' team too and we rent pitches in Richmond Park which have no training facilities or shelter so this would be life changing for us as a club.

"It would be brilliant not just for the club but for the area of Wandsworth as well to have a facility like this."

The meeting will take place at 10.30am this Saturday before Rosslyn Park's final home game of the season against Blaydon.

A narrow 17-16 defeat at Old Albanians on Saturday continued their poor away form/ It was fifth defeat in a row on the road and seventh in eight matches, and all but ended their hopes of finishing second.

With two games left, they sit fourth, seven points behind Blaydon in third and Esher in second, who have a game in hand.
