Weybridge Vandals RFC will be using a cash windfall to improve facilities at the club, and it is calling on volunteers to help.
The Vandals, promoted to London & South East Division Two last season, received £4,000 from the NatWest RugbyForce scheme.
The scheme helps community rugby clubs improve their facilities and become stronger businesses.
The Vandals will be throwing open their doors at Brownacres on June 15 and 16, and is asking for volunteers to indulge in a weekend of DIY and cleaning.
Much of the effort will be on converting part of the club’s changing facilities to create a segregated area so that female players and match officials are able to shower and change on site.
Fabrizio Maffi, Vandals mini and junior chairman, said: “Through the scheme, we are able to make a significant improvements.
“It is all part of our plan to be ready to capitalise on the likely surge in interest in rugby when the Rugby World Cup comes to England in 2015.”
