Weybridge Vandals moved into the London Division Two South West title race with a hard fought 24-11 win at south coast Bognor on Saturday.
Number eight Darren Livett’s fourth try of the season - after good work from winger Johnnie Howe - and three penalties from Cassian Bramham-Law gave the visitors a wind-assisted first-half 14-8 advantage.
Stirring defence saw head coach Ian Bardgett’s men concede just three points in the second half, with a further Bramham-Law penalty and full-back Fred Hedger’s last-minute break away try securing a fourth win of the season.
Vandals enjoy a week off before hosting struggling Effingham & Leatherhead, when they will be looking to close the two-point advantage leaders Tottonians have at the top of the table.
