Sutton & Epsom’s U13s showed their prodigious talent with a crushing 49-0 win over their Richmond counterparts.

The performance event left the Richmond coach drooling and Sutton went on to be crowned Surrey champions having scored 276 points in their seven matches.

The team will receive their trophy at Twickenham on June 13.

Sutton U13B came second in their league – the highlight of their season a 35-7 win over Haslemere.

This is great vindication of the battles that were fought years ago by club committee member Jamie Paxton to introduce mini and junior rugby to the Cheam based club.

Many of these young players will go on to much greater things – maybe even following Paul Hodgson into the England team.

With 90 per cent of the club’s first XV coming from the youth section, the club owes a great deal to Paxton and the coaches who give their time on a Sunday morning.

Sutton & Epsom host a touch rugby competition for people of all ages, male or female, on Saturday, May 8.

This is a fun game with minimal contact. Entry is free but pre-registration is necessary - to register visit touchnation.co.uk

Sutton will also be running a rugby summer camp between 2nd and 6th of August 2010 for boys and girls aged between 5 and 15years. A week of tag rugby, tackle drills and fun. For details visit rugbycamp.com
