With a record 29 degree October temperature in Kent, Warlingham equalled that number by putting 29 points on their hosts, scoring four excellent tries in the process to beat Aylesford Bulls 29-10.

With two first team props unavailable Warlingham drafted Andrew Moreland and Lawrence Reynolds into the front row.

The early signs were ominous when, in the first minutes, Aylesford scrum took several yards off the visitors.

After a number of re-set scrums put Warlingham on the back foot, and a quick grubber kick gave Aylesford's centre an easy score under the posts which was converted.

The Aylesford back line had a difficult time gathering the high kicks and gave away a number of scrums in good positions.

Warlingham were in command in all other areas and when centre Ben Wimble chased up a long Mark Kozminski kick the resultant scrum allowed a sharp blindside move which was clinically finished by winger Jack Atkinson.

Kozminski added the touchline conversion and followed this with a tramline penalty to put Warlingham ahead at half time.

After the break locks Luke Delderfield and Nick Ray, returning to the Warlingham First XV for the first time this season, took the game to Aylesford and back rowers Zac King and Mike Fair controlled the loose play with aplomb.

When Kozminski emerged with the ball from a congested maul he galloped ahead but, with lack of support was unable to unload the ball.

However, the damage was done and persistent battering of the Aylesford line saw Tom Street score under the posts.

Kozminski metronomically added the conversion. Aylesford were now in disarray and when Jon Osborne gathered the ball on the 10m line he showed his pace and jinked past several defenders for Warlingham's third try.

Aylesford then forced their way into the visitors half and were rewarded with a penalty but that was to be the last time they troubled the scoreboard.

Warlingham were clearly the stronger finishers and when replacement James Delderfield splintered the home defence Kozminski put up an up-and-under which was again fumbled by the defenders and Atkinson snapped up the ball and raced in for the bonus point fourth try. Kozminski did the necessary with the conversion.

As a result of injuries to Warlingham's front row the scrums were, unfortunately, reduced to uncontested, but Aylesford still took the upper hand and came close to scoring in the closing stages.

However, Warlingham's much improved defence was equal and no further scores ensued.

After the game, Warlingham captain, James Agate said: "I was really please how the new guys fitted into the team and to score four tries down here against the powerful Bulls shows we are improving with every game."

Warlingham move up to third in the league table with a home fixture against Deal & Betteshanger next Saturday.
