UK's first underwater rugby team from Putney makes international debut

The UK’s first underwater rugby club made its international debut at a tournament in Italy.

Members of PURE Underwater Rugby Club, based at Putney Leisure Centre, played against teams from across Europe as part of the Firenze Tournament, in Florence, May 24-25.

Despite losing out in the main competition they did win some other competitions including a win against Madrid and a Swiss team.

The experience has made them determined to enter more international competitions.
