Whitton Lions may have hoped to roar on their Middlesex Merit Table Division Seven debut last week, but it was more of a whimper.
The club, formally established in October 2011, began their first ever competitive season last week with a 43-0 defeat to Belsize Park third XV at Old Latymerians Sports Ground.
It was the club's opening home game of the season and with another 13 matches on the fixture schedule it could be a long campaign.
The Lions, who claim to be Whitton's first and only rugby club, host training sessions on Thursday nights at their Wills Crescent home and for more information visit whittonlions.co.uk.
