Danny Orr admits the odds are stacked against Harlequins RL making the Super League play-offs, but he insists the Londoners will be busting a gut to make them.
Quins need victories over Castleford and Warrington in their final two games to have any chance of making the top eight, and even then require other results to go their way.
But Orr reckons all they can do is worry about themselves.
He said: “We have just got to win our final two games.
“It will be hard, but that is what we have got to do.
“If we don’t beat Castleford this weekend, that will probably be it for us.
“There is a bit of pressure there, but it is a good kind of pressure and hopefully it will bring out the best in us.”
After a horror run of nine defeats in ten games, few would bet on Brain McDermott’s men chalking up back-to-back victories to finish the season.
But Orr, who has battled a series of injuries and ailments this season, feels the two-week lay-off has given everyone a boost.
He added: “It is important to have time to freshen up and give the bodies a rest so that we can go into the final two games feeling strong.
“We have all come back in good spirits and feeling strong.
“All the lads are really up for it and we are training really hard.”
The scrum-half was both born in and played for Castleford early in his career.
But he insists his thoughts will only be with one team come the weekend.
Orr added: “I have very fond memories of playing up there and I had a really good time at Castleford.
“But everyone moves on and I have one job to do on Sunday - help Quins beat them.”
Harlequins RL’s final two fixtures: Sep 6 Castleford (h), 13 Warrington (a)
